Our commitment
We respect your privacy. We handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
If you want to know more about the Australian Privacy Principles, visit the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at https://www.oaic.gov.au/.
What personal information we collect and why
Personal information is information that identifies you, or could reasonably identify you.
When you use the quote form on our website, we collect:
- the brand of your watch
- details of your watch
- photos of your watch, if you choose to add them
- your mobile number or email address
- whether you ticked "Keep me updated with news and offers by email"
We use this information to reply to you with an offer and to arrange a purchase if you decide to go ahead.
We only send you news and offers by email if you ticked that box. You can unsubscribe at any time, using the link in any email, by replying to any email, or by emailing us at [email protected].
If you contact us by phone, text or email, we collect the details you give us so we can answer you.
If you sell a watch to us, we may also collect:
- your name and contact details
- identification (see the next section)
- your bank details, so we can pay you
We collect personal information directly from you. We only collect what we need to do business with you.
Sensitive information
Sensitive information is a kind of personal information that needs extra care. It includes information about:
- your racial or ethnic origin
- your political opinions or memberships
- your religious or philosophical beliefs
- your trade union or professional memberships
- your sexual orientation or practices
- your criminal record
- your health or genetic information
- your biometric information
We do not ask for sensitive information through our website. Please do not send it to us.
When we buy a watch, we may ask to see and record your identification, for example a driver's licence. We do this to confirm who we are buying from and to keep proper records of second-hand goods. We only use that information for those purposes, and as the law requires.
Third parties
Our website uses services run by other businesses to host the site, receive quote form submissions and protect the form from automated abuse.
- Website hosting: Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages).
- Bot protection on the quote form: Cloudflare Turnstile.
- Quote form submissions: received and stored using Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Sheets and Google Drive), through Google Apps Script.
These services may handle the information you send through the site. We only use providers that we reasonably believe look after information with care.
Some providers may store information on servers outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, such as which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are and what device they use. Google sets cookies on your browser for this. Google handles the IP address data that comes with each visit.
You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Cloudflare Turnstile may also check your browser to stop automated bots from using the quote form.
Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it when:
- you have agreed to it
- it is needed to provide our service, such as using a provider to pay you or store our records
- the law requires or allows it, for example to a government body, a regulator or the police
We may also share it if the business is sold or restructured, and the new owner agrees to protect your information in line with this policy.
Security of personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or sharing. This includes keeping it in password-protected systems and limiting who can see it.
We keep business records for at least 7 years. When we no longer need your information and the law does not require us to keep it, we destroy it or remove anything that identifies you.
No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure. Please take care about what you send.
Access to your personal information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below.
We do not charge a fee to make a request. We may charge a reasonable administrative fee for providing a copy.
We may ask you to prove who you are before we give you access, to protect your privacy. If we cannot give you access, we will explain why in writing.
Keeping your information accurate
We take reasonable steps to make sure the personal information we hold is accurate, up to date and complete. If your details change, or you think something we hold is wrong, please tell us and we will fix it.
Policy updates
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on our website. Please check back now and then.
